What dog is best for hunting? Me and my dad go hunting for rabbits almost every year. We need a good dog, but it should be small. We plan on getting two for next season, so they should be a friendly breed, too. Preferrably a breed that doesn't scare easy, because we ride our horses down to the spot we use for hunting, and I usually use a bow, but when I use a gun, mine is really loud. Deer only thrive and are over populated because in most areas they have no natural predators. Bears, Mountain Lions, Wolves, etc these are all not as populated as they were even a hundred years ago because of human interference, sport hunting, ignorance, farmers, development, habitat destruction, and too top that off during the early part of the 20th century deer were endangered due to over hunting

What is the best dog for the listed requirements? I would like to get a canine that serves multiple purposes. I would like it to protect my family and home. I also have milk goats and I would like it to be able herd them in from the field.
