bow hunting? Ok. this is the first year i could actually pull my compound bow back. (im 14) i want to go bow hunting (doubtful this year probably next) What are some good tips for practicing? Also any other tips would be appreciated. Thanx I would NEVER kill an animal for the sake of killing. I have been hunting before just not with a bow. I go muzzeloader and rifle. Also i started dove hunting this year. Also i thought i would this will be my 3rd year hunting. i turn 15 in a couple weeks.

When bow hunting, if I stick a deer with an arrow, and it does not die, can I then shoot it with a handgun? This is during bow season in texas, which you are not allowed to hunt with a gun. The intention of the gun is to put down a wounded animal that could be dangerous after being shot.

I would like to build a very tall bow hunting stand ( 30'+) and looking for plans to help me out, any ideas? I think the ideal stand would actually be stand within a stand, that is, a hunting platform half way up with an observation deck at the very top. I live in Bris,QLD,Australia,How do i obtain a location and permission to bow-hunt on a property nearby ? I realise you cannot hunt within city limits as all animals are considered as fauna. I have been an archer for a few years and I am looking to further my skills. The game I would like to hunt is pigs and other feral pests such as rabbits, goats and foxes. I am a responsible person and at no time do I carry firearms, nor take dogs on any trip I would do. All hunting is done with a bow and arrow only.

Bow Hunting Help? I am a big bore target rifle shooter but i want to do a bit of hunting, in particular rabbits. I cant get a gun because dad doesnt have a license so im left with bow & arrow. Felons and bow hunting? I cannot help but be devistted about the comments that I see posted about ex-felons hunting. I myself am an ex-felon and an avid outdoorsman. I made a MISTAKE when I was 19 and now at 30 people make me sick when I read there stupid comments. EVERYONE has done something stupid in their lives, if you think that because of that someone should NEVER be able to even bowhunt as a sport than you yourself should be held accountable for all your actions. This is America and not Iraq. And to all you people who think that I cannot even own a hunting knife you are mistaken. You can in most states hunt with a bow. I am ok with never owning a firearm, and I will hunt with a bow, my life is not over. Let you who cast the first stone be judged the same. Enjoy your life. Even as a felon you are human. Dont let judgemental idiots scare you. No firearms, but bow hunting is ok. Federal laws NEVER will stop you from hunting, but be sure to check your state laws.
Deer Vitals While Bow Hunting??? Where is the best shot going to be taken??? I heard the heart, a double lung shot and I also heard to hit them in there liver. If you did hit them in the liver would it hurt any of there meat?? I am new to bow hunting and I don't want to hit it in the wrong spot and just wound it. I am looking at hunting wild pigs at close range using dogs to find the pigs and bay them till I get there with my bow..I was told at close range a 35lb would be alright?? what do you think?? bow hunting? im a left hand shooter im pretty comfortable shooting a right hand bow using my left hand heres the thing ive been shooting a recurve now im going after deer in the fall and im going to need a compound bow so the recurve dasent have any sights or any thing my question is how will it work when i get a compound bow with sights should i get a left or a right ok every body is getting the wrong idea ive never shot using my right hand i always shoot using my left hand im a left handed shooter only it just so happens that i have a right handed recurve bow but i always hod the bow with my right hand and draw with my left and use my left eye

what is a good size hunting bow? Sorry in advance, but I know nothing about these. I'm trying to buy my husband a good bow. Is there a difference between an archery bow and a hunting bow? I have seen both the compound and recurve bow. What is best for a beginner and a good size for 6' , 175lb man. He is strong and able to lift, carry, and endure quite a bit. He hunted with his dad as a kid, but hasn't done it in years. Bow Hunting? Buying a bow? I was wondering on what a good huntinf bow is. i was planning on spending around $800.00 but it would be great to spend less if i can get something that is near as good. I am around 5foot 9-10inches and my arms are a normal length for my size.....what size bow should i be looking for? I have a store that would sell me a new 2007 Bear Element (70lbmax) with bisket rest, peep sight, 3 pin sight, i dont know what they are called but shock absorbers, one on each end and then one right below where the arrow releaces,and some other things as well, 6 arrow holder on the bow, a trigger, four aarrows, and a few other minor things and all of this for $650................is it worth it? or should i get something else...thanks alot for the help!

Bow hunting hogs? I have a lease that is loaded with hogs. I have no problem killing them with a gun but a bow is a different story. I have made several pass threw shots directly behind the front shoulder but have yet to recover any of the hogs. I was so fustrated this year that I didnt even try an shot on a hog. Any ideas??

bow hunting equiptment? i need advice i bought a used browning busch master its 10 years old but in very good condition i shoot some practise arrows today and it was pretty good #1 question the sight it has a rectangular sight with 3 pointy brass screws i dont know how to use the sight or set it maybe i should buy a new one. #2 the arrow rest in mw opinion stinks its like a single pin with a flip side to side action or something maybe i should buy a new one.#3 the string doesnot have a peep sight installed maybe i should buy a new one.it does not have a stabalizer on it and noise dampners that look like cat toys or something now saying all that it seems to shoot just fine its a left handed bow i am a left hand shooter but i thing its not quiet enough in my mind anyway #4 should the cams be oiled or something or cables changed i really want it to work as good as it possibley can

R there any special procedures available for anyone wanting to travel with a hunting bow and knife via airport I’ll be travelling to Africa soon, for about 3 months. I want to purchase a hunting knife from the USA and take it with me; Africa is where I want to end up in, not in a prison for terrorists. So my question is, are there any special procedures open to travellers to do this? You know something like having the knife and bow in a locked case and having it checked in and giving the keys to the pilot or cabin crew. I am actually travelling from the UK not the USA.
