texas treasure hunting Knowledge Base

Are there any places in Texas to treasure hunt? I have been watching the Travel Channels show Cash and Treasure, and have yet to see them dig in Texas. I was wondering if anyone knew of any places in Texas that I could dig for treasure?
Treasure hunting in Maryland/Virginia, civil war sites? My uncle is in town and he loves treasure hunting. Not the kind with treasure maps and metal detectors. The kind that is rumored to exist, with the old tales about history burying it. He is from texas and they have a lot of that in that area. Does anyone know of any places around the MD and VA aread that has stories or something interesting? Besides Gettysburg, he thinks its too commercialized. He says he remembers a story about the civil war and what not but I wasn't sure. Any ideas? links?

asking someone to a dance? i've already asked this question, but i guess i didn't give enough info. if you'd please help again i'd greatly appreciate it! i'm a senior from Texas and i'm asking this guy (who's at college in Cali) to "Snowball" - a sadies for seniors. i'm not asking him to dance but TO GO TO the dance. i don't want to do anything with cakes b/c i've already used that idea with him. i was thinking i could sprinkle fake snow over his window (i have someone to get up there, and i already know when he'd be home) and pretend like it's snowing, holding a sign "how about snowball". or i could have his friend at college help me with a treasure hunt. i couldn't be there b/c i'd be in texas and he in cali or i could send something to his professor at college. i want something "corny" - we've been "talking" for 3 or 4 years now, so it's ok. corny is how we do it. :) any other ideas?
Texas Beaches....Rockport/ Fulton Area? I have heard about Brazos Port for beach combing/ sea shell hunting. Not very familiar with that area..... was wondering if there is a cool beach near Rockport/Fulton for beachcombing? Does not have to be touristy or have a lot of attractions in the area. Just want to find some cool "sea treasures" while bumming around the beach next weekend. Thanks in advance! :-)

Are there any good online resources for laws regarding treasure hunting? Looking to get into wreck diving, but I had thought it would be best to brush up on artifact recovery laws before any serious diving. I realize that this can often change by state; I live in Texas but plan to be diving wherever I can. Any resources that include laws for wrecks in international waters would be much appreciated as well. Basically, I'm just trying to see what I can explore/salvage/recover without invoking the wrath of some insurance company, the federal government, or any other organization with a lawyer and a need for capital. Much thanks, JM
