Hunting.....? Is hunting considered the murdering of animals? I mean in this country we definitely have enough to eat. I could understand if you "have to" hunt and need to put food on the table, but it seems most do it for sport. I just csn comprehend that. Help me out someone.

starving hunting dogs? ok, i have a question about something that has been bothering me, and i want to know from people who hunt. before i go into this i want to say i am NOT against hunting or a peta freak by any means. i work at a state park and people call in all the time about starved hunting dogs. the park ranger says it's ok the owners starve them so they hunt better, and they will find their way back home. i just think this is wrong!! to starve them at all is wrong, isn't it? i googled everywhere to find out about starving hunting dogs and couldn't find anything! and i have even hunted, and my family does but have never heard of this. is this a normal practice and is it ok? i just want to know so i don't worry about it anymore. anyways, i thought i'd ask people that would know best. no, people who live near the park call all the time, and tourists say they see them all the time. we have the name of a guy and he admits to doing it. i personally think it is awful...and want to prove it to the park ranger who says it's ok...i'm tired of arguing w/him about it! omg shano! thanks so much! i JUST asked another guy from work about it, and was about to post what he said! he said the dogs just run alot, so they look thin, which make the people think they are malnourished...he says if you just ran 20 miles you'd probably look like it too! hahaha! so, i can FINALLY not worry about it anymore!!! thanks so much! but that dude is a weirdo...people say, the one who admits to doing it.
Public Hunting Land Database?? I'm looking to find a website or something of the sort that will show me all the open public hunting land in each state.. I normally only hunt OH and KY but I'm looking to move out west in a few years and want to move somewhere close to a lot of public hunting land. I know BLM manages a lot of public hunting land but I'd like to see their areas on the map with other public hunting areas... I already have that info for Ohio, I'm looking for a database of public hunting land maps for all 48 states.... DNR websites usually only show a map of that specific hunting area, I want a map of the state that shows all the hunting areas within it...
Fowl Hunting? I've been considering taking up hunting for a while now, in particular fowl hunting (upland and water). I just have no idea where to start. This is something I've wanted to do since I was younger (around 8 years old) but never had the chance. My father hunted, but always said it was no sport for a girl (come on now!) I've been helping to train retrievers for hunting and field trials for a few years now, but have never actually hunted. I've got two dogs-a lab and a chessie, who are both working, and mostly I would like to pick it up for them-they love it. I've got two guns that belonged to my father, a rifle and a shotgun, but I couldn't tell you the brands as they are sitting in the attic collecting dust. I've been to the shooting range tons of time with my dad as a kid. Just looking for a point in the right direction. We have all sorts of things lying around from my dad...calls, camo, ammo, just stuff like that. I know I'll have to go get lisences. Thanks for any help!
Hunting DFW? Hi, everyone. I'm a 26 year old African American male who loves hunting. I grew up in hunting in Mississippi and I have been hunting since the age of 8. I moved to the DFW area to attend UNT .The probably that i'm having is that I love hunting and every since I moved here I can't find anyone who loves to hunt. I love to hunt everything from Deer to squirrel. So the game wouldn't be a problem. So I was wondering, if there were any hunting clubs in the DFW area that I could join, that wouldn't have a problem with an african american male hunting with them, it's ashame that i have to mention that, but lets be honest with ourselves, its an issue with some people.
hunting with my boyfriend? ok soo my boyfriend wants me to go hunting with him and his brother. ive never been hunting in my life, untill a month ago i lived in nyc, the wildest animals i saw were at the zoo. im not afraid to shoot an animal or whatever. what i want to know is what happens when you go hunting, how long do you hunt for, what animal do you hunt, what do i wear to go hunting, and apparently hunting is big in louisiana and his whole family hunts so i dont want to look like an idiot. i dont want to go he wants me to
Hunting - New to Sport? Hello --- I am new to the sport of hunting, actually I am Brand new, i do not own a single item to begin hunting. Can anyone give me any tips as what things a beginner would need to hunt deer and other animals like that. Also why type of gun would be good for someone brand new. Do they have classes to take to teach you the art of hunting and all that goes with it? what other accesories and gear would a beginner need?
Hunting for food? I live in the southern part of the states where guns and hunting are a way of life for many here....not for survival .but, for sport and they enjoy Venison, wild turkey and there are many organizations that give meat to the poor. I have lived in the Northwest and it was completely different....Very anti hunting and guns. I was just wondering what the general consensus was regarding hunting in your area of the States and other countries. I put this in the food area because I think it relates to additudes about food and the only other option was the hunting section...and I rather doubt Id get varied opinions there..
BB gun hunting in Massachusetts? Okay. I have a bb pellet gun and I want to hunt for crows and small game. Am I allowed to hunt small game with my 0.177 bb gun if I get a liscence to hunt? And also, what small game can I hunt? Will they pay me for small game bounties? And where do I et a hunting liscence?
Coyote hunting question? Before people get the wrong impression of me from this question, let me just state that i love hunting, eating deer fresh off the camp stove, and have never felt any hesitation or remorse when it comes to killing game. However at Scheels the other day i watched a video of hunters shooting coyotes, and even though i had previously considered hunting them and not had a problem with it, seeing it for real on video just really deeply disturbed and bothered me, because it looked too much to me like they were shooting a dog. I have had several dogs in my life and they have always been very close companions, so it's just naturally imbedded in me to be caring towards all kinds of dogs, so that must be what causes me to be so upset over watching coyotes being shot. Now believe me i understand why they are hunted and need no convincing there, and i have no problem with, and encourage, it being done. But my question is, does anyone else feel this way when they see coyote's being hunted? Wow thanks for all the great answers so far everybody, i completely agree with everything you guys are saying here, and i appreciate hearing your views on this. I think that it's a matter of where i just have to put it into perspective, that these are scum, like hyena's, and shouldn't be afforded any pity by those hunting them.
seal hunting ? okay im from newfoundland and theres seal hunting here , im a huge animal lover but i dont like the way we are being put down . first of all when people say that ppl are hunting whitecoats , its illegal to hunt them u know for like 7 or more years now. another why dont people say anything about hunting deer and or horse slaughter houses clubbing a seal is the fastest way to kill it so it dont get hurt . there are over 3 Millions seals and growing faster and faster . i dont like it but i just wanted to say these facts that u people might not know about it . so watch out what your hearing cuz some can be false information. im kinda sad cuz i love animals and my hometown at the same time. they use the skin and the meat to alot of people like the flipper thats meat too ! i am a ANIMAL LOVER im not taking the side of the sealers or anything but u dont live here , u dont know everything , and i know its a sin .
What hunting season are open over the summer? Last night I came out to the living room and my brother was watching hunting on the outdoors channel. And he started talking to me about how he would like to take a week long trip and go hunting. So, me and him started talking and now we are planning on taking that trip over the summer and he is going to try and get me into hunting. I really don't know a lot about it but he told me to see what seansons were open and to tell him what I wanted to do. So I need to figure out what we can hunt over the summer. Thanx!
hunting pet deer and or turkey? in new york it is illegal to hunt wild game without a hunters safety course and a hunting liscence. but what if you raise them yourself. i have some pet turkeys that are pretty much wild but they do live in a big pen and i was thinking about getting some deer, so if i built a big fence all the way around my property so they couldnt get out and no wild game could get in would it be illegal to hunt them or would i have to have a permit because i did pay for them and they are my animals. thanks. just for the hippie activists to know, im not doing anything cruel they havnt been hand raised and they dont consider me their friend so they arent being tricked into liking me and coming to me. its not easy because i have 27 acres for them to run around in and thry would have a pretty good life if they were smart enough not to get shot. i should probably have said that the deer or turkeys i would be raising are legal to own, i can buy them at my local farm market and they sell them in the spring. i guess they are domesticated. by the way ROBERT, i can hunt i have before and i love it. but now that we are in new york i cant. i am not simply ranching i am going to fence them in in a 30 acre enclosure and let them be as free as they want and im not planning on killing ALL of them and i am even only going to hunt them during season so they can breed properly and what not i dont see why people think it is so different because it is basically the same thing the only difference is that they cant leave MY own personal property and i dont need a permit to kill them.
Hunting regs on coyote hunting in Ohio? First off, I do believe you are allowed to hunt coyotes with a rifle but is there a max or min on caliber size? I'd like to use my 7mm Rem Mag. Also, does it matter if it's a semi-auto rifle as I plan on buying a AR in the next couple months and I know 7mm is a bit overkill? What are hunting hours? I believe it's 24/7 except for deer season in which hunting hours are the same as deer hunting hours. Lastly can you hunt public land such as state parks for coyotes with a rifle.?Thanks.
Hunting Deer--Basic Info Needed. Help a Writer? I'm a writer, working on a story in which there's a brief scene with a character hunting whitetail deer in upstate New York's Catskill Mountains. I'm finding the details devilishly hard. I know most hunters prefer a stand, but might he lie on the ground? (I'd like to establish that he's good at this sort of shot, since later he won't be hunting deer.) If so, would he just lie on ground that's cold and possibly wet? If not, what would he lie on? Second, and this is the one so basic I can't believe the answer's not easily found online--does your basic unnamed hunting rifle eject brass cartridges, and would the hunter pick up his brass before approaching his deer? Thanks in advance, hunters.
Hunting questions? Why do people who dont eat meat dont like hunting dont hunt and dont agree with hunting in general come on the hunting area and post questions? It really gets on my and I'm sure other peoples nerves who want to ask and read valid hunting related questions. Go ask your questions in a political forum somewhere. THANKYOU By the way I HUNT and LIKE IT
Hunting a Sign of Dangerous Behavior to come? If animal cruelty is a sign of pyschopathic behavior and hunting for fun is animal cruelty, is hunting not a sign of pyschopathic behavior? What I mean is that most modern pyschology teaches that one distinct characteristic of dangerous criminals is abuse to animals. Logically, hunting down and killing an innocent animal for fun is construed as animal cruelty....so is it not safe to say that people who hunt are more likely, according to pyschology, to commit dangerous crimes? And for that matter, is the fact that the government has not banned hunting (not out of neccessity) evidence that it supports pathelogical behavior of its citizens? I'm not saying whether or not I agree with this, I'm just pointing out the facts.
Are hunting ranches wrong? I just recently learned about hunting ranches. For those of you who are not familiar, a hunting ranch is a ranch where the owners breed, feed and raise non-wild animals for sport-hunting in a closed enviroment. People pay thousands of dollars to go to these ranches to hunt rare or non-rare animals like bison or African deer for "entertainment". The kills can be stuffed or eaten for example. When I first learned of this and started to do a little research, I found myself in a bit of a quandary. I am a meat eater yet I find this concept disgusting. Am I a complete hypocrite? Obviously the meat I ate was killed, but how? Was it killed on a hunting ranch or in the wild? What the difference in terms of what's right and what's wrong? I'm not going to stop eating meat, but should I change my viewpoint about hunting ranches?

For your INFORMATION (would you look at that, it's spelled correctly) I do know how to spell. I'm sorry that it's 3:20am and I mispelled a word much to your discontent but is pointing out the fact that I've mispelled a word relevant to this question? No, it is not. I'm glad, for you, that you seem to have such a strong knowledge base of personality disorders but I can assure you that I do not have one. Disagreement about killing for sport is not a sign of mental disorder. Believing that animals are "evil" for simply existing is, however, a disturbing sign. I, of course, do not know you but if you read my question you'll notice that I do not agree or disagree I was only placing relevant facts together to form a debatable topic for intellectual conversation...I'm sorry you didn't get that the first time reading over....Perhaps you were too busy pointing out my spelling and grammer mistakes.
Hunting Bobcats? A good animal friend of mine was recently maliciously murdered by a bobcat. I've done plenty of hunting throughout my life, especially on hogs, yet I've never considered hunting bobcats. I plan to hunt down this murdering cat and do much worse to him. I was wondering about what would be the best methods of finding or hunting him?? Do they tend to roam far off from their hunting territory??What would be the best way to draw or call one into my sights?? Thanks.
any one wanna go hunting? or just stay home and play on the computer? i was just sitting here thinking we have a line of comunacation here and we seem to be wasting it on a lot of throw away questions.this could be a good place to hook each other up with swap hunts. i know i would be happy to take any one to my hunting grounds to hunt if they were going to hook my up with hunting animals or in places that i have never hunted before...what do you guys think?

Seal Hunting. Should it be banned? The seal hunt started a few days ago in Newfoundland. This years quota is 270,000 seals out of a seal population of 15 million. Seals are hunted not only for their fur but also the meat is eaten. Should seal hunting be banned completely? Is the quota too high or too low.

Is 'Big Five' game hunting in Africa beneficial to the African community or that of the hunter? Hi, I have long been interested in Africa having Rhodesian roots and read about the 'Big Five' hunting whenever I can. Whether or not I am pro-or-anti hunting is irrelevant. I know that hunting some animals is beneficial to the local environment and may benefit the hunter's own community (if they're from foreign fields) in terms of research and education. But what about hunting the Big Five? Any educated answers are welcome but please don't use this to rant about your own views surrounding the ethics of hunting in general. I am interested specifically in the results of hunting the Big Five. Incidentally, how easy is it for an American or European to go and hunt the 5 these days? Also, as an aside, is it possible to get hunting rifles these days that have wooden flanks covering the whole barrel, as with the M1 and .303 infantry rifles of ww2? Can you provide a link or name, and what are the pro's/ con's of this design in terms of hunting, if still used? Thanks!
hunting joke? Paul tries to take his friend hunting, but when they get to his favorite hunting spot, they find “No Trespassing” signs everywhere. Paul walks up to the nearby farmhouse. The farmer answers the door, and Paul says, "Sir, I’ve hunted on this property all my life, but now I notice you have a bunch of signs up. I wanted to see if it was still OK" The farmer scratches his chin for a bit and says, "I’ll make you a deal. We’ve got this cow out back that we have to kill for food, but we’ve grown too attached to it. If you go out back and shoot my cow, I’ll let you hunt on my property." Walking back to the car, Paul decides to play a joke on his friend. "That old bastard won’t let us hunt on his property," he tells him. "I’m going to shoot his cow!" He then walks over to the side of the house and-BLAM! Suddenly two more shots ring out behind him, and his friend runs up, yelling, "I got the cat and dog too! Let’s get the hell out of here!"
Hunting dogs? In the past I've been 100% against hunting, because as some of you may know, I was brainwashed by PETA into believing that all killing, even if it's just stepping on an ant or buying a hamburger, is evil and is a sin and blah blah blah. (Fortunately I've snapped out of that phase now and I KNOW for certain that PETA is retarded.) Now, I think moderate hunting of animals that are not endangered, such as deer, is acceptable since very few of the deer's natural predators remain in the wild to keep the population down (and as long as the hunter doesn't just kill the deer to make a trophy). I also know that some people use dogs like spaniels and retrievers to aid in the hunt, which I have nothing against unless the dog hates his work. So I've been wondering, which breeds are used the most for hunting, and what exactly do they do during the hunt? Like, do they carry the birds back to the car, or what? Just curious! Oh yeah, and if any of you are hunters, is it fun? What's the experience like? I'm thinking about hunting maybe once in a while when I grow up so I can give my dogs a wild, healthy source of meat (better than the processed stuff at the stores)....still thinking, since sometimes hunters are accidentally shot by other hunters. :( Quote - "How would you know if a dog hates his job?" I'm actually not sure. I've never hunted, unless you count the many times my Bichon frise and I have chased squirrels and rabbits for fun, but I guess maybe the dog would growl every time his owner took out his hunting gear. That idea did not come from PETA. It formed only, say, a week ago - I promised myself that if I ever became a hunter, I would never FORCE a dog to assist me during my hunts. I would bring him along if he seemed eager to do the job. That's all.

Hog hunting in Florida? From my understanding, the Florida FWC allows year round hunting of wild hogs... there are no specific season dates. Does anyone know of a public land area, preferably near Tampa, where I can go and do some hog hunting with a rifle or shotgun year round? Maybe it's just me, but on the FWC website, I can only find info on WMA areas, and they all seem to have specific allowable hunting dates. Thanks a bunch.
I have a hunting question for a story I am writing? I am not a hunter by any means, but I have a scene in a novel I am writing and I just want to make sure it is realistic. My husband, who has hunted in the past, has helped me with certain details, but there is one we need help with. What age is appropriate to bring a child with you to hunt? (Not necessarily to use the gun, but to watch?) And, as a sidenote, please no anti-hunting answers! I am not saying I am for or against hunting...I am just a writer in need of an important detail to make my story flow! Thanks! And it is deer hunting, if that helps
Turkey hunting in the snow!? Up here in Kootenai County Idaho we are having ourselves a record winter. We have snow still measured in feet at anything over 3000 feet still and it is also dropping well below freezing at night. Can't get much lower than 2200 feet here and most of the land is private under the snow level and doesn't offer much decent gobbler hunting. T Turkey season opened last week and I am having a bit of trouble getting the birds to act like they normally do in the spring. They are quieter and seem to be roosting more. Is there anyone experienced in Turkey hunting in winter like conditions? I have never had to hunt the birds in heavy snow. I asked this late a couple days ago and only got two very random answers that didn't pertain to my situation at all. (One of the two was "shoot randomly at the snow" end quote and the other was "Cali girls are just easy I guess....Or Cali girls have it easier" or something like that! Not much help, so anyone able to give me a hand here!? How did this go from a legitimate question in Turkey hunting to Brokeback Mountain. I'm not sure its wise trying to cuddle up for some gay love with a North Idaho country boy whom is already snuggled up to his loving shotgun.
hunting sucks? I have a serious problem with hunting, and people who do it. I'm not a meat eater, and I seriously get mad when i find out people are going hunting, or that they do. I am from the midwest, so hunting is huge, and people have pictures of the animals they kill around, and it makes me so mad. I know it isnt right for me to dislike people who hunt, but I can't help it. Any ideas from other people who feel this way, on how to think about the whole thing? I don't want any hunting enthusiasts to post, I will not ever see it your way. thanks!
Now that is hunting? Beaudreaux, Thibodeaux and Beaudreaux's wife Clateaha went into the woods to go hunting. Clateaha however had retired from hunting,..because Beaudreaux told her no more hunting for you!! After killing several squirrels the Game Warden drove up. He asked for hunting license. Beaudreaux and Thibodeaux gladly assisted. All of the sudden Clateaha peeked from behind the tree. The Game Warden said " Oh my What in the world is that hideous looking thing behind the tree." Beaudreaux gladly says "That's my wife Clateaha." The game warden then asked "Is she hunting" Beaudreaux tells him,"Oh no officer,We use to let her hunt without a gun,and I have to admit she was good, but she just got uglier and uglier,so I drew the line with her hunting because she tore them up so bad." The officer then replied "Well that is definitely a face to die for." If you read between the lines and are over the age of 6 you can figure out that they used Clateaha to hunt squirrels with her looks. But it is a joke that causes one to think which I can tell most of don't so sorry about that. Thibodeaux, is pronounced Tibodo. Hope that helps.
Nebraska turkey hunting question...? i am getting new hunting camo for spring turkey hunting season and i hunt in south eastern Nebraska. i was wonding which would be a better patern seclusion 3D or mossy oak new break up?
A good hunting gun.? I need a good hunting gun that dosent kick. I live in Ohio, so I cant hunt with a 22 caliber. I just hunt the usual, deer, turkey, rabbit, squirrel. Dont ask questions, just answer my question, PLEASE. Its not that im afraid of the kick, or it hurts me.I think it messes up my aim. :::example::: I shot my 2 4-10s and hit the outside of the target once and missed the target once.I shot a .22 cal. and hit a bulls eye.
Hunting Runescape? Okay, so I have 11 in hunting and Im going to the snow hunting place by relleka. I forgot to get hunting gear, is there any other place near there I can get some gear? also, where can I get the snow hunting clothes?
Deer Hunting with dogs ? I have hunted with and without dogs for 34years I enjoy both types of hunting ,but I love to hear and see a pack of hounds hot on the trail of a good buck.I know a lot of people are against this type of hunting, and I also know most of those people have never tried it.I think this is not for everyone as bowhunting is not for me,but I have great respect for all types of hunters because they are having a great time doing what they love.My question is why can't hunters respect other types of hunting besides the one they are involved in .And If you want to have the time of your life go deer hunting with a good pack of hounds and a bunch of good friends.
What are the positive effects of hunting? What I mean by that is what are the "positive" effects of huntingand it's impact on the enviroment? NO sarcastic answers, or answers saying there's nothing positive hunting, because this is for an essay, and i need the positives of hunting; when i say positives, i mean the positive effects on the enviroment, other animals, etc??? What are the positive impacts of hunting in nature??? I dont want to know how it affects humans necessarily, but how it affects the enviroment and other animals.
How to get started with hunting? I am thinking of getting involved in hunting, primarily for food, but i guess also for game as well. Though I feel guilty doing it just for game. My questions are for people who hunt. First, what would you primarily with you if you went hunting? Second, what type of licenses do you need? What time of year do people normally hunt during? Which states are best for this? Do you know any good websites to visit of locations? Also, any good websites to visit about equipment? Any other insight would be great. I apologize in advance to any animal rights activists. I respect your life choices and want you to go fight for your cause, just respect others life choices as well. Thanks.
What are the rules and requirements for hunting trials, and how do you train? Can I have links to sites and books please? I'm researching for a story. Also I need to know, when is rabbit season and can a non-AKC dog participate in the trials? More specifically I'm working with beagles and rabbit hunting. And I need to know how you first train to hunt alone and then how you would train if another dog was introduced to make a pair. Thank you!

What is a good shotgun for turkey hunting? I'm new to the turkey hunting scene and having only upland shotguns, what is a good type of shotgun for tukeys? I know everyone will say something different, but I have no idea really. What should I look for, and what should I avoid?
How do I start hunting with crossbows? I want to hunt but I am terrified of loud noises. How much noise does a crossbow make when being shot? Also: Are crossbows effective for deer and other such game? Tell me everything I need to know to get started hunting with crossbows.
What is the best dog for blood tracking and hunting? I am looking for a dog breed that is good for hunting (mainly deer) and good with families. I have a young child and do not want an aggressive breed. I am a novice dog trainer and would like to try and do most of the training myself. I want a breed that can be trained to blood track and retreive. Does anyone know of any good breeds?
What exactly does it take to open a bounty hunting business? I want to open a bounty hunting business to target sex offenders. What sort of things do I need to do to get the licenses, permits and such. Where do I go, who do I need to talk to. What does it take besides money which is the given. I need all the legalities.
What's the difference between killing dogs and deer hunting? We all have heard about Micheal Vick, and pleaing guilty to dogfighting charges. My question is if killing dogs is inhumane then why are laws not the same for deer hunting? I have seen in houses people hanging the heads of deers that they have killed. Is that not inhumane, or is killing deers perfectly fine, but killing dogs is inhumane and illegal?
When job hunting, is it legal for an employer to refuse a paper application & send you to a website? I have a friend looking for a job and is refused a paper application and in return being asked to go to a website to apply. He does not have easy access to the web and is therefore requesting a paper application. And he is not the only one. My neighbor is now complaining of the same thing. Now, obviously I allow him to use my computer and phone as a job hunting source, but I think it bothers him. I understand the complaint as well, applying online is usually long and tedious with no call backs.
How old should a person be before they start hunting deer? I'm having huge arguments with my in-laws about this topic. I was 6 years-old when my father bought me a cross-bow, but I didn't get my first deer until I was 8. They think I'm full of it and told me that it's way too young to be shooting a firearm. Where I came from (Ohio), most kids were out hunting with their fathers/brothers.
How much does hunting effect the economy? I just simply want to know the money raised from hunting in general helps states economy. If you know of any sites that have this answer please include them. Thanks.
What is a good camcorder to use for video taping my hunting adventures? I have looking at the Sony HC38, but I am unsure of how it will perform in lower light conditions that are common when hunting. I would expect it to take clear video for several minutes past sundown, but not all the way until it is pitch black outside. My price range is $250-$350. Also, I am leaning toward Mini-DV or DVD camcorder, so I can easily transfer it to my computer.
How do you train English Springer Spaniels to retrieve for bird hunting? I have had a springer spaniel before and know that they learn quickly and I have some of the stuff to train them for bird hunting but i was wondering if anyone would have suggestions? Is there an easy way to do it or is it all complicated? I train horses and I have seen complicated stuff with them so I'm hoping this isn't that hard.
How Would I Wash My Hunting Jacket? Well hunting season is over and my hunting jacket is full of mud? How would I wash it? There is numberous zippers which i dont want to break. How can anyone get any satisfaction from hunting animals with tricks? I was thumbing through a sporting goods catalog recently and was slightly amused/horrified to see fake geese, a fake cow, all manner of subterfuge to make hunting animals easier. I thought the whole point of hunting was the challenge. Between canned hunts and all these silly fakes, where's the sport? For the record, I'm not a hunter, but hunting is legal and protected. I respect that right. And I do appreciate that someone else killed that cow I had in burger form.
What I wanna know is; Whats the difference between people hunting deer out there and Michael Vick's dog fights Why is it okay to hunt the poor innocent deer and other animals and eat them for dinner but there is such a big deal about this dog fighting. Why is deer hunting looked at as a sport but dog fighting is a crime punishable with prison time? Is it possible that because the majority of hunters are caucasion and the people who have dog fights are minorities. They have trophies for animal hunters and some people even hand the deer heads in their living rooms. I think both are wrong and if Michael Vick has to do jail time for gog fighting, hunters should also do jail time because both are cruelty to animals.
How can I get my wife to tolerate my deer hunting? She knew I was an avid hunter before we got married, and she has knowingly eaten and even cooked deer meat. For some reason, now, my hunting is a problem. I've tried all the logical arguments, but she still gets upset when I go hunting...Help!
How do I start hunting in WA? I haven't tried hunting yet, and it looks interesting. Could anyone tell me how to start? What kind of gun is best for a beginner, where can I hunt, etc.
Why are people talking about politics in the hunting forum? Not all gun owners are hunters and, strange as it may seem, all hunters are not gun owners. Hunters provide food and clothing for their families and the less fortunate, as well as preserve the balance in nature in our DESIGNATED hunting areas. Sure there are bad apples among us, but the president of PETA wears leather belts so knock it off.
What is the best time of night for cats to go hunting? So tonight I was out walking and I noticed a cat in someone's driveway. It was sitting very still but VERY alert. I wonder if it was hunting. I am wondering what time of day cats like to hunt for small prey (like mice, rats, birds, etc.).
What month is best for hunting haggis? I'm planning a trip to the highlands for a bit of camping etc. Just wondering whether there is a particular season for hunting haggis? Additionally, are there any particular methods of haggis hunting I should look into? I was just going to use a pointed stick.
How Do You Feel About Recreational Hunting? I am not vegan but I am against killing animals just for the sake of killing them. My dad and brother periodically go hunting. They purchase deer from this company that lets them loose so that they can be hunted later. They are left their and the people supposedly dispose of the remains. I don't partake in this activity but if it just for sport I don't understand wyhy they can't just shoot targets.
What Is a Good Shotgun for Hunting and Self Defense? I want a shotgun for defense but also for hunting that can accept different chokes. Preferably with a barrel shorter than 28 inches. Most of the shotguns that I've seen that take chokes have 28 inch barrels. This shotgun will be for turkeys and intruders.
