Goose Hunting? So this guy is in Rhode Island hunting for geese. He catches one and puts it in his bag with the other geese. Just as he closes the bag, a Hunting Inspector walks up. "Sir, can I please see that bag?" he asks. "Sure," says the hunter and hands the bag over. The Inspector looks through the bag, pulls out one goose, and sticks his finger up its a!!ss. He pulls it out, smells it and says, "This here's a Virginia goose, do you have a Virginia Hunting License?" The hunter looks through his wallet and pulls out it and shows it to the inspector. The inspector nods and sticks his hand in the bag and pulls out another goose. He sticks his finger up it's a!!ss and says, "This here's a Maine goose, do you have a Maine Hunting License?" The hunter looks again through his wallet, pulls out the card, and shows it to the inspector. He nods again, and pulls out the last goose. He does the routine and says, "This here is a Rhode Island goose, do you have a Rhode Island Hunting License?" The hunter fishes through his wallet, shows the card to the inspector and puts it back in. "Boy," you having all these licenses, where you from?" asks the Inspector. The hunter pulls down his pants and asks, "Why don't you find out?"

How can I sell a stuffed Canadian Goose (taxidermy) in Florida? My boyfriend legally hunted a huge Canadian Goose and good money was paid to have it mounted by a taxidermist. It is currently in a crate in the garage but we are now moving in together. There is no way this is going on the wall and we live in Florida so there is no basement, aka man cave where he can hang it. Also Ebay doesn't allow mounted goose. Please let me know if anyone knows of any Florida Law against selling it in the newspaper, or has any other suggestion. Thanks! How can anyone get any satisfaction from hunting animals with tricks? I was thumbing through a sporting goods catalog recently and was slightly amused/horrified to see fake geese, a fake cow, all manner of subterfuge to make hunting animals easier. I thought the whole point of hunting was the challenge. Between canned hunts and all these silly fakes, where's the sport? For the record, I'm not a hunter, but hunting is legal and protected. I respect that right. And I do appreciate that someone else killed that cow I had in burger form.
Why do people believe goose and duck taste bad? I hunt, i cook my game. People i have talked to think goose and duck taste "gamey" and won't eat it. I fry it in butter and garlic, i grill it with a red wine marinade, i bake it, and any other way i can think of and i don't ever come across a gamey taste.... What is the deal?
I was just watching a TV program on hunting geese. Do these hunters really eat those greese? And then they sound like they just had sex! I sure would like to give those geese a gun and return a little fire. Or better yet have one of them just poop on them!!!!!
What is a good short reed East Coast Canada goose call? I'm looking into investing in a new short reed canada goose call. There are many subspecies of canada geese, all sounding different. I hunt in NJ (eastern canada goose) and am looking for a good short reed goose call. The ones i have now ended up to be a waste of money. Either they were too high pitched, or clogged up easily from getting wet. No one at my local sporting goods store knew anything about goose calls. Can anyone reccomend me a good goose call?

A goose-huning we will go?(joke)? This man goes goose-hunting and he shoots 4 geese.He puts all the 4 geese in his trunk of his vehicle.The game warden happened to be around that day and was doing spot checks.He inspected the man's vehicle and noticed the guy had 4 geese in his trunk.The game warden says to him "You know,I hate to tell you this but the limit of geese is 3 geese.I'm sorry to tell you this but I am going to have to write you a ticket for that 4th goose." The hunter knew what the limit was and he just wanted to be greedy and to see if he could get away with it.He did that quite often but it caught up to him.I guess he probably didn't think he was going to run into the game warden. So to find out which provinces the geese were from,the game warden stuck his index finger up the first gooses bum then smells his finger.He says"This goose is definately from Manitoba." He sticks his index finger up the second gooses bum,smells his finger then says" This goose if definately from Sasketchewan." He sticks his finger up the 3rd gooses bum,smells his finger and says"This goose is definately from Alberta." So while the game warden is writng up a ticket for the 4th goose,he says to the hunter"Which province are you from anyways.?" The hunter pulls his pants and gitch down,bends over barebutt and says to the hunter"Why dont you tell me!!!" thats how i heard it and thats how i tell it
Duck and goose hunters?? I recently started duck and goose hunting. I am using a Remington 1100, 2 3/4" shell, with a full choke that's not changeable. So my questions are......What is the best choke for duck/goose? Should I get a shotgun that shoots 3" or 3 1/2" and has interchangable chokes?

How does my cocker spaniel know hunting poses if he was never trained? How is it possible for them to be born with this knowledge? I realize cocker spaniels are sporting dogs whose purpose is to fetch ducks and geese that the hunter shoots down. Before they do that, they lift up their front paw and hold it close to their chests, and then lunge. My dog does this, and I know it is a very breed-specific thing to do. Does anyone know how he could have been born with this kind of specific knowledge? Keepitup, nobody said it was a waterdog! Who's ignorant now?
How do you train a dog to not run away when he is off his leash? I have a 2 yr. old dog. He is a Lab/ Bull Mastiff. I have been working with him, teaching him how to sit, lay and come. He is doing very well. We are now working on sit and stay. I am just curious...what tricks do I use to teach him to stay put when I take his leash of in the yard? I know trained dogs can perform this trick well. Any pointers. I would love for my dog to be able to step outside or be able to open my door to get my mail and not be worried about him bolting off. It has happened a couple times. Usually he does not go far...just on the street. But he sends us on a goose hunt for him. Sort of like we are chasing him. Like it is a "GAME". I sometimes think it is. The closer I walk to him the more he steps or runs but when I turn away he sort of ventures back.....but not completely. So what is the trick? Any advice?
Are you outraged at Chicago's plan on controlling the geese population? Chicago wildlife authorities are planning on training people to hunt out goose nests and destroy goslings by shaking the eggs to crush the embryos or coating the eggs in oil to suffocate the gosling. If you are upset by this and live in Chicago, PLEASE DO SOMETHING! I understand the need for population control. But wouldn't it be more humane to just take the eggs and let them grow cold? I meant to put this in my original question and forgot.
How do i choose what Shotgun I should buy? I don't know much about guns, but I want to buy a shotgun as my first gun. I'll probably keep it forever and use it a lot before buying anything else. I was told by a shop keeper to get a 20 gauge but my uncle told me to get a 12 gauge. Whats the difference between the gauges? I want to use it to shoot birds when hunting (duck, geese, whatever else i can hunt here in Texas) and also for shoot practice shots at the range (clay flyers). What would you suggest as a good gauge and gun for me to buy? I'm willing to spend at most 500 but who knows, I'm new to this and don't know how much i should be spending for a good gun. Oh and i think i want a semi-auto gun not a pump action, but i'm still not sure. please help.
i have a few odd symptoms does any one know what they could be or lead to? i was out goose hunting this morning and it has rained the last few days so mosquitoes were pretty bad, i don't know if that has much to do with this, but today i got bit by a mosquito on the foot and now that foot is swollen, also my eyes are dilated so bright lights hurt and also my eyes are inflamed and swelling and i have a headache, any ideas?

How do I meet my hero? Alright. This year is a somewhat special year for moi. I'll be turning sweet 16, as well as this being my golden birthday (16 on July 16th, '07). For a few years now, I've always wanted to meet one of my heroes. That is Gene Wilder. From what I've read on the internet, he lives in Connecticut, but I haven't found much else. I'd very much like to meet him as a sort of gift to myself, but I'm not sure how I should approach trying to set a meeting with him. I've got relatives in Connecticut, but I don't know if they'd be willing to go on a wild goose hunt with me. :P
Goose hunters...Having any luck in the early season? I went hunting last Friday with a buddy and we got 11 Canadas over decoys. We saw some mallards and about 2 dozen wood ducks, too. I can't wait for duck season. Pennsylvania - In the early resident goose season (9/1-9/25) there is a daily bag limit of 8 geese per hunter. In the regular season that starts 11/15 the daily bag limit is 5.
Christmas ideas for my hunter husband? Trying to come up with some good ideas for Christmas gift ideas for my husband who is an avid hunter. He has lots of camo, gun cabinet, cases etc etc. He's into deer hunting, goose, pretty much whatever. He's got some callers etc. I can't think of much to get him that he would REALLY like that isn't over the top expensive. And i done care if the tail is bigger than the fish, or the horn is bigger than the antler, I just need something to bring my summer love back to the dock. I love to fish and hunt i grew up with it, i have been hunting sence i was 3 or 4 and fishing sence i was old enough to hold the fishing pole. i love the hooken the worms and minnows. i love bass fishing and cat fishing, hell i like any kind of fishing, and i dont mind the cleaning eather. The race of the heart when you see that deer come in to the clearing, OOOww give me goose bumps!! so anyway lay them on me : ) cant wait to read them:)
How can I teach my German Shorthair Pointer how to hunt? Hes 3 months old and a rescue..he was locked in a cage most of his life. Hunting Preserve? I just found out there is a hunting preserve right near my job that allows people to release pidgeons, geese and other birds and just start shooting them!! Hunting Myspace Layout/Background???? I'm looking for a hunting myspace background. More specifically a duck or goose hunting one. Im in the process of moving to a farm place that has a lake right acroos the road that is primarily used for? hunting purposes geese duck etc. but according to the dnr it has a hage variety of fish in it and big ones i might add but the lake itself is very over grown with trees and stuff around the shore except one spot that is open but there is about 25 feet of rush beforeu can get to open water is there any way i can kill off the rush/cat tail to be able to fish it from shore?
How often should i be getting a new bow? I seem to buy a new hunting bow every 2 to 1-1/2 years. Is this exsessive, i use my bow for Deer, Bear, Turky, rabbit, and woodchuck hunting, and i shoot constantly. I hardly use guns anymore unless i am goose hunting. I hunt every chance i can during the seasons and i spend 20 to 30 hours a week in the field. How offten do you guys think i should buy a new bow? Truth is im looking at a new hoyt, and i have only use the bow i have for one season.

Hunting is a Good sport, in my opinion (anyone who disagrees state your opinion) I have been hunting with a gun since i was like 13. I get the same Bullshit at school about how cruel hunting is. Girls usually quote "ew your so discusting for eating that", "oh your so mean". This saying means a lot "Hunting is good, playing mother nature is bad". The way i see it is if you don't hunt animals or birds they over populate and this one girl quoted in another question "it is good for animals to over populate. Actaully no its not. Birds and animals need to be maintained at a good level, basically in the middle. I always hear about the DNR or whatever there called allowing you to buy more tags for animals because theres too much in that specific area. A lot of people think huntings is bad cause were killing animals. But for every single person look what global warming is doing to the animals. A lot of animals die because because of global warming effects. This can mean shortened hibranation period could lead to starvation and increased numbers of some animals being eaten by predators. I can tell that a lot of the geese and ducks are getting lost cause of major temperature changes.
I would like to go goose/duck hunting but don't know how I would retrieve them? Where I am going there is no way to get boat there and the dogs I could use probly would not follow me or they would not retrieve them. I was thing about taking my bow and my shotgun But if i did get one if its in the water I dont have the means to retrive it unless theres some real small portable raft i could use What could I do??

In Tennessee, is it legal to shoot a Canada goose AFTER it has landed and is swimming in the water? A local hunter was hunting on the lake shore the other day, only shooting at the geese after they'd landed in the water. It's completely unsporting, but that's beside the point. I want to know if it's legal. If anyone can help, and give me a resource for that information, I'd appreciate it. Thanks! Goose season opens Oct. 4, but this happened during the short early season, a little more than a week ago. Also, if local residents are feeding these geese, are they considered baited?

When is hunting season and why doesent my dad like to take me hunting? I'm a 15 year old girl and I dont think he likes to take me hunting. He likes to take my guy cousins, his dad, brother in law, or his brother. When I ask him to go he says "sure i'll take you." Hunting Question Regarding A Shotgun. Remington 870 Owners Especially? I am looking to purchase a shotgun for duck,goose,partridge and turkey hunting, i've narrowed it down to a Remington Model 870 12 gauge but am unsure if i was the normal finish, synthetic finish, or the camo one? does anyone with any expirience know about these? i like the synthetic but it doesnt look like a hunting gun so if anyone has any advice it would be great

Ideal Time for Goose Hunting? I went today for some hunting and was hiding in some brush in a ditch and had camo on with a goose call and about 12 decoys scattered about... There was nothing to be seen or heard. I went at 6o'clockpm to 8:30pm (which was the ideal time i thought). I was hunting at a small experimental aircraft air strip... I had the licences, the fedral stamps, permits from the state and local police, and permission from the airport owner/manager.... these geese have become a threat to planes taking off and landing because they sit in the middle of the runway and are high in numbers...
