Hunting Bobcats?

A good animal friend of mine was recently maliciously murdered by a bobcat. I've done plenty of hunting throughout my life, especially on hogs, yet I've never considered hunting bobcats. I plan to hunt down this murdering cat and do much worse to him. I was wondering about what would be the best methods of finding or hunting him?? Do they tend to roam far off from their hunting territory??What would be the best way to draw or call one into my sights?? Thanks.

1. a bobcat???? killed by a bobcat????? more likely a mountain lion....bobcats are tiny...hard to imagine a grown person getting killied much less maliciously murdered by a bob cat...are you sure????? and i dont see the term maliciously murdered being used either that would mean the bobcat or whatever it was thought about and planned a particularly heinous death for your buddy then carried it out by laying in wait for him to come by...i dont think so my friend...no if your bud was killed by a wild animal ask yourself this question...what was he doing was he somewhere he didnt belong at a time of day...or night he didnt belong there???i am sorry for your loss but to try to call a killing a murder is wrong sometimes theese things happen..dont go shooting a bobcat or mountian lion for that matter...they are protected by law and you will go to jail for it....good luck and god bless

2. Rabbit distress calls and a moving furry decoy. Not unlike fox or coyote hunting. The lynx usually has a set territory, but young males will wander a lot to find a home. If you have seen this one more than once, he's territorial. They avoid daylight hour movement and come out at dusk. You may want to find someone with dogs, if that's allowed in your state.

3. Bob cats are extremely people shy and it's not likely you will even see one. They are probably clever enough to spot you even if you are using calls or bait.

I am not sure where you live but I don't think Illinois allows anyone to hunt bob cat. They may be making more of a comeback in Illinois since you're always asked if any were spotted during deer season.

4. bait the area and get in a tree stand i have killed many bobcats this way plus there good eating

5. Your animal friend was maliciously 'murdered' by a bobcat? Only humans can commit murder. Most likely your animal-friend was just at the bottom of the food chain. I'm sorry for your loss but don't over react. Calm down and if you still decide on taking out the cat try a distressed chick or wounded rabbit call.
