1. Have you seen the old movie Sgt York? Just try going "gobble , gobble , gobble".....it worked for him.
2. push button calls are the most simple to use. Those such as knight and hales "lonesome hen" or mad calls "the egg" are very simple to use. If u want to call with your mouth using diaphragm calls then i would go with the single reed or double reed calls (with an instructional DVD or CD). As far as decoys it all depends on how much u want to spend. Primos has a real nice setup called the b-mobile pair, however you can just get a couple of hens and maybe one tom or jake. I have found that a decoy setup with more than one jake can sometimes intimidate a large tom, good luck hunting
3. There are as many kinds as turkeys have feathers...I use diaphragms nearly all the time, now.....I can call with both my hands free, and make most calls with it, after using one for twenty years...They are not the easiest to learn, but once you learn to make a sound with it...it becomes easier to get the tone and pitch right.......I use "Feather Flex" decoys, because they are foam and hollow, and I can fold them up, and carry six in my turkey vest....I usually put a "Jake" decoy out, and have had 90 % of the gobblers come to the jake, instead of the hens......I usually set them thirty yards from me, and make sure I am camouflaged to the hilt....I sit with my body facing, and gun on the decoys....If a gobbler is really interested, he is coming to the decoys.....That way, I do not have to move at all, except to put the sight on his head, and squeeze the trigger.....If a gobbler is even in the decoys, wait for him to gobble, or stretch his neck out for a shot....A strutting gobbler has his neck completely compressed, and the outstretched neck is a small enough target......South Carolina is real turkey country, and I think you are allowed 5.....or so it used to be...Haven't hunted down there since my buddy died, but there were gobblers everywhere we went a few years back...
4. i like the cass creek electronic calls my self,as for decoys you want as many as you can carry to your "set". i would also get a hunting blind if i were you,it doesn't have to be one of the expensive ones,as long as you have room to move inside and your hidden.
5. mouth calls are best, no movement to use, bringem in close
