1. Depends on how you deer hunt i suppose. If you hunt deer from a blind or stand, you'll probably find it very similar except you don't usually stay in the same place all day.
The main thing is getting a general location on some turkeys. Cruise around likely areas and make a loud noise, like an owl call or even honking your horn and if there are toms in the area they usually gobble back. Then you set up in a likely spot and try to get them to come in with hen calls. Some folks also use a decoy or two. You gotta let them get close, less than 35 yards and go for a head/neck shot with a full or extra-full choke shotgun.
Turkeys have very good eyesight so you should use full camo and limit your movement as much as possible. Scent is not a worry though. Good luck!
2. aim for the head
3. The best way I know to explain what Turkey hunting is this,...
It's hunting's version of chess. LOL
It's a lot more exiting than deer hunting, it's kind of like cat and mouse.
For me personally, I get mad when a deer winds me, or if I sit in a stand for days at a time without seeing anything, but when a turkey (a bird with a brain the size of your thumbnail) gets over on me, all I can do is smile. It's a battle of wits.
4. get a blind,a turkey call(i like the cass creek electronic call) as many decoys as you can. before dawn set the decoys about 30 feet in front of your blind,at first light start calling. you will know when the toms coming in,he will gobble every few minutes,if he stops use your hen call make him come to you.then shoot him in the head. if you have a screw in choke on your shot gun,get a extended turkey choke.and make sure you pattern your gun before you go,it may take a few shells but its worth it in the long run,you don't want to find out your gun shoots high and right when tom turkeys in front of you
