- Hunter Identified in Shooting of Conservation Officer Wednesday, December 3, 2008 @ 3:22PMDNR officials have identified a hunter who they say accidently shot a conservation ranger Thanksgiving day. They say 47-year old Lynn Jeffers, of Port Wentworth, mistakenly opened fire on Cpl. Curtis Wright with a 7 mm magnum rifle, striking Wright in the lower left chest area.
